PRE-ORDER: The Courage to Love: The Skills and Secrets of Happy Relationships
$19.00FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF THE COURAGE TO BE DISLIKED
What if real love isn’t a feeling to fall into, but a choice to be made? Find the courage to embrace the love you truly deserve—without fear of judgment, inadequacy, or rejection.
In The Courage to Love, celebrated philosopher and bestselling author Ichiro Kishimi invites us to question the myths about love that keep us searching for happiness in the wrong places. Stepping beyond the thrill of new romance, and drawing on the psychological insights of Alfred Adler, Kishimi presents love—in partnerships, families, and friendships—as an active commitment, a brave choice we must make every day to foster our growth and others'.
Whether you are single, dating, in a long-term relationship, or navigating the challenges of family life, Kishimi offers a new perspective on building fulfilling relationships. Readers will:
* Disentangle love from control, approval, and self-sacrifice and instead discover the foundations of equality in relationships
* Escape the trap of striving to be liked and to "earn" love
* Practice practical techniques for communication, conflict resolution, and intimacy through all stages of a relationship
* Learn to understand and practice authentic love, not as dependency, but as an act of freedom and mutual respectThe Courage to Love is an invitation to transform how you understand love, moving from a desire to be chosen to the powerful choice to love well.

PRE-ORDER: Lose Your Mother: A Journey Along the Atlantic Slave Route (20th Anniversary Edition)
PRE-ORDER: Lose Your Mother: A Journey Along the Atlantic Slave Route (20th Anniversary Edition)
$19.00An eloquent and original exploration of the Atlantic slave trade―now featuring the essay “Venus in Two Acts” and a new introduction by Dionne Brand.
A monumental work of first-person history, Lose Your Mother traces the legacy of the Atlantic slave trade by recounting a journey Saidiya Hartman took along a slave route in Ghana. Following the trail of captives from the hinterland to the Atlantic coast, she reckons with the blank slate of her own genealogy and the rippling effects of slavery on three centuries of African and African-American history.
The slave, Hartman observes, is a stranger―torn from family, home, and country. To lose your mother is to be severed from your kin, to be uprooted from your past, and to inhabit the world as an outsider. There are no known survivors of Hartman’s lineage, no relatives in Ghana whom she came hoping to find. Instead, she is a stranger in search of strangers, forging connections with others living in the wake of atrocity.
A rigorous and intimate reflection on the afterlife of slavery, Lose Your Mother is both a book of history and a book of grief. This 20th anniversary edition now includes Hartman’s landmark essay “Venus in Two Acts” and a new introduction by Dionne Brand―perfect for introducing new readers to Hartman’s lived-in way of contending with the past.

ABOUT THE BOOK
A dazzling and heartfelt YA novel in verse by Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe New Talent Award winner, Arriel Vinson, about a Black girl majorette healing from loss, while discovering how to dance to her own beat.
It's hard to plan for the future when the one you envisioned is now a thing of the past.
Seventeen-year-old Sky Simms should be riding high. It's senior year, and she's the dance team captain with a shot at a competition that could change her life. But Sky is still reeling from her older brother's sudden, tragic death and the collapse of their shared HBCU dreams—she as majorette, he as drum major.
With the memory of her brother ever-present, Sky struggles to manage all the moving parts of her life—school, college prep, dance--let alone find excitement for them. Once practice is in full swing, Sky’s distracted from her woes when forced to work with Meech, the cute but annoying drumline captain. And she slowly discovers they can help each other with more than the competition.
But she can only run from her grief for so long. Sky might not know what life looks like without her brother, but if she doesn’t learn to deal with the present, she could fumble her future before she can imagine a new one.ABOUT THE AUTHOR

ABOUT THE BOOK
In this steamy and sweet sapphic romance, set in the world of women's basketball, an uptight athletic trainer has one taboo night with a hot team member determined to play for her heart – and win.
Hard work has Khadijah Upton starting her dream job as an athletic trainer for the WNBA Atlanta Cannons. Then an evening of celebratory letting loose turns into a one-night-stand with a beautiful stranger. It’s a reckless, wildly sexy encounter that Khadijah intends to forget…until her first day on the job lands her face to face with Shae Harris again.
Shae is a major player in every sense of the word, and Khadijah doesn’t plan to be the latest in a long line of “Harris Honeys.” Personal and professional just don’t mix. But Shae, who’s all about living life to the fullest, keeps tempting Khadijah to blur the boundaries. And the more Shae reveals about herself, the harder it is for Khadijah to resist her.
In the bedroom, their tension sizzles. On the court, it’s a liability. But unless Khadijah’s willing to really let Shae in, it won’t be just the championship on the line, but a body-and-soul connection that rewrites all the rules.

Alexandrea LeChelle
Alexandrea LeChelle is a contemporary romance author whose stories explore love, grief, healing, and the complicated beauty of human connection.
Her novels unfold between Houston and Louisiana and center Black characters navigating family legacies, emotional vulnerability, and the quiet courage it takes to love deeply and unapologetically.
Through rich, emotional storytelling and cinematic detail, Alexandrea writes the kind of love stories she rarely saw growing up and entering adulthood. Stories where Black characters are allowed to be flawed, passionate, and deeply human.
What began as a way to process emotions and channel creativity through her own healing journey, slowly evolved into something much bigger: an urge to create and share stories about love, healing, and the complicated paths of life that bring people together.
Her stories often explore themes such as emotional healing, family dynamics, grief and growth, healthy Black love, the courage to begin again. Every story is planted in the belief that love, in all its forms, has the power to change us for the better.
When she’s not reading, Alexandrea can be found working her way through her own TBR, journaling or planning new creative projects, adding recipes to her personal cookbook, and listening to playlists that eventually inspire new stories.
